\nI have a small rabbitry where I raise Silver Foxes and Flemish Giants, most are raised in cages and some of the does are raised in small pastures so they can burrow in the ground to create their own dens underground to raise their kits more naturally. They are fed a diet of fresh wheat grass( that I grow in the house in seed trays), pellets with no corn(GMO), alfalfa hay, and orchard grass, as well as assorted carrots and greens. I also provide the kits with a grow out pasture on the ground once they reach 6 weeks old, so they can enjoy running and a more natural environment. The adults are able to enjoy their freedom at least three times a week for about four to 6 hours ( depending on seasons ) each time in their own day pastures.

\nWe are a small family-owned Rabitry that started two years ago, but my husband and I both helped raise rabbits when we were growing up. Our rabbitry is located in the Mid-Mississippi area in Rankin County. We breed the sweetest Pedigreed show quality Flemish Giants you would ever meet, plus adorable and loving Holland Lops and Lionheads that make wonderful 4-H show rabbits and pets. We handle three other breeds sold for pets or breeding stock for meat rabbits: Pedigreed Silver Fox, New Zealand Mixes, and TAMUK rabbits. The breeding pair of Silver Fox are very calm and easy to work with; they are a large, beautiful rabbit with silver tips on their fur. Our New Zealand breeders are generally considered meat rabbits, but we believe they are all pets. We are really excited about a fairly young pair of TAMUK rabbits we acquired recently. The TAMUK is a composite of large breed of meat rabbit developed by Texas A&M University of Kensington (TAMUK) for heat tolerance of our southern summers, plus they have the added benefit of good meat to bone ratio. They are just now reaching breeding age and we are looking forward to this experience. We are fortunate that all of our rabbits are calm and easy to work with, and that leads to calm babies. We play K-Love music plus a little bit of Country Music in the bunny barn 24\/7, so all of our bunnies are used to voices talking, and singing, they are not startled by most noise, and have been around cats and small dogs most of their lives.
