Fairytail Rabbits is a small rabbitry of Pedigree Netherland Dwarf Rabbits, with parentage and genetic color codes provided to each buyer. We breed for enjoyment and lineage. Fairytail Rabbits is located in central Louisiana. Our little fairies are excellent for 4-H projects, pets, and breeding stock. Netherland dwarf rabbits’ average size is 3 lbs. or less and take less room to house. We try to socialize our little fairy bunnies before they go to a new home. Our Netherland dwarfs can be bought for raising meat rabbits, although they are small their food conversion is excellent to meat ratio making them an excellent choice. Another benefit is Netherland Dwarf Rabbits grow out faster than your larger breeds, and are ready to butcher. We handle our babies from a young age so that they are accustomed to handling,grooming and nails being clipped. Some we have are show quality but all of them are pet quality! You can request a rabbit kit for an extra fee which would include a cage, small bag of feed, shavings, and water bottle.

Hooge’s Rabbit Farm
The Hooge Rabbit Farm is housed in a 30’x30′ barn which we built utilizing used and inexpensive material in effort to promote environmental awareness through out our family and farm. The roof rises to 12 feet at the center and slopes to 8-foot sides. Since rabbits do best in semi–darkness, there are only three small windows on each side. In Louisiana, there is little need for a heating element, but I have a 36-inch fan in its lower section to move the air up and out. The barn also has a dirt floor to absorb the urine. This holds down odors and makes cleaning much easier. Any other type of surface has to be washed every day and is too much trouble. My building houses 13 does and 5 bucks of varying breeds, both meat and pet rabbits. The animals’ pellet feed is kept in garbage cans to protect it and is supplemented periodically with black oil sunflower seeds, old fashion oats and apple cider vinegar. The pet breeds are very domesticated and kid friendly due to all the little helping hands we have in our family.
